1   2  FOSS PARK STREAM BANK STABILIZATION  3

FOSS PARK

This project has been designed to stabilize and enhance approximately 3,600 linear feet within the Foss Park Golf Course.  The banks of the drainage ditch are currently very steep at places and eroded.  This project will re-configure the ditch to provide for moderate bank sloping and to stabilize the base of the slopes by installing tree revetments and coir rolls.

Once completed, the drainage ditch will have a more uniform channel which will reduce water velocity during high water events thereby reducing erosion and flooding.  In addition, these project improvements will enhance water quality and general safety in and around the drainage ditch.

The District has received permits from the Corps of Engineers and the Lake County Stormwater Management Agency.

Construction began in October of 2009.
