LAKE BLUFF STORAGE SITE STUDY
The
District and SMC have completed a detailed flood storage study
of property located south of Rockland Road (Route (176) in Lake
Bluff, Illinois. This property is owned by the Lake
County Forest Preserve and the Illinois Department of Natural
Resources. This property was purchased as a flood storage
site.
This study investigated
flood reduction benefits which may be achieved by utilizing
this site. Different types and capacities of flood
storage alternatives were investigated, as well as information
to evaluate storm sewer and ditch improvement projects within
the District.
